Peter began his career at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, where he worked in the props and set construction departments. His hiring was influenced by his creative background in custom building and restoring muscle cars, as well as designing window displays for local businesses. This diverse skill set allowed him to contribute to the intricate and dynamic productions at the Met, where he gained valuable experience in theatrical design and craftsmanship.
In 1997, Peter relocated to Florida and productions directly hired him into their art departments as a Prop Master. During this period, he worked on numerous TV commercials and music videos until 2003. His work in these areas showcased his ability to create compelling visual narratives within the constraints of commercial formats. This experience further honed his skills in production design, preparing him for larger-scale projects in the film industry.
Peter's transition into feature films marked a significant milestone in his career. Then in 2008, he was offered the opportunity to design his first feature film, Stiletto, which was written, directed, and produced by two-time Academy Award winner Nick Vallelonga. This role allowed Peter to apply his extensive experience in the art department to the creation of a full-length feature, demonstrating his versatility and growth as a production designer.
Throughout his career, Peter has been recognized for his creative collaboration and his ability to manage budgets and crews effectively.
